About the brand

Gabriela LeMay is curated with a traditional, pared-down aesthetic sensibility.

It is also curated with a profound appreciation for wellbeing.

Towards that end, I take a curious, humble approach to learning about health-based criteria as it relates to the products we use everyday.

I use these insights to inform the objects and inspirations of GL. I aim to do so in a manner which I hope you will find to be thoughtful, flexible, and transparent.

What we look for:

OEKO-TEX labels

The OEKO-TEX Made in Green and Standard 100 labels signify that every component of the certified product has been tested and verified to be free from “numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health” (source).

Environmental Working Group (EWG) Ratings and Guides

The EWG is an organization that uses research to formulate product ratings and guides aimed at helping consumers “to make informed choices and live a healthy life in a healthy environment” (source).

Opting for alternatives to plastic

GL prioritizes the use of alternatives to plastic materials wherever possible, including in clothing, kitchenware, and personal care items.

Some research suggests that plastic poses a number of risks to both human health - particularly, reproductive health - and the health of the environment (source).
